NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Elmhurst University’s Katie Hurta and Elayna Ammerman, along with North Park University’s Kendal Britton, claimed College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week honors, announced Monday.
Hurta earned her second weekly honor of the season after totaling 68 kills across four matches while hitting .402 and averaging four kills per set. Ammerman anchored the Elmhurst defense with 90 digs, averaging 5.29 digs per set and extending her streak of double-digit digs to all 11 matches of her collegiate career. Britton directed the North Park offense with 113 assists across four matches, including a 35-assist, 12-dig double-double in a three-set win over Beloit College.

Offensive
Katie Hurta, Elmhurst (Outside Hitter, Graduate Student, Palos Hills, IL) - Second Weekly Honor
Hurta led Elmhurst during a 3-1 week, totaling 68 kills and averaging four kills per set while hitting .402. She recorded double-digit kills in all four matches, extending her streak to seven consecutive matches with at least 10 kills. Hurta also added 18 digs and five blocks while averaging 4.26 points per set.
Defensive
Elayna Ammerman, Elmhurst (Libero, Freshman, Franklin, TN)
Ammerman anchored the Elmhurst defense, totaling 90 digs and averaging 5.29 digs per set. She recorded 20 digs against Illinois Tech, 16 against Alma, 23 against Luther and a week-high 27 against Concordia Wisconsin, extending her streak of double-digit digs to all 11 matches of her collegiate career. She also added 20 assists and six service aces on the week and currently ranks second in the CCIW with 4.89 digs per set.
Setter
Kendal Britton, North Park (Setter, Senior, Grand Rapids, MI)
Britton directed the North Park offense with 113 assists across four matches, highlighted by a 35-assist, 12-dig double-double in a three-set win over Beloit College. She followed with 36 assists against Rockford University, giving her 30-plus assists in two matches on the week. Briiton also added seven service aces, six kills and 23 digs.
