NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central College’s BJ Sorg claimed College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week honors following a first-place performance at the NCCXC Invite.
Sorg led the field Friday at St. James Farm, winning the three-mile race in 14:27 and led North Central to a sweep of Harper College. Originally scheduled as an 8K, the race was shortened to three miles due to heat conditions. Despite the conditions, BJ turned in a controlled performance to open the season and provide an early indication of his fitness entering the 2026 campaign.
Sorg and the No. 14-ranked Cardinals return to action Sept. 19, with squads slated to compete at Wheaton College’s Gil Dodds Invitational and the John McNichols Invitational, hosted by Indiana State University.
