NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Zach Hird was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Hird, a senior from Rock Island, Illinois and Alleman High School (Accounting major), placed second out of 188 runners during the Benedictine Invitational on Friday. Running in his first 8K race of the season, Hird finished with a time of 25:38.0 as the Cardinals were first out of 18 teams with 66 points.

During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
