Award Criteria
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Elmhurst women's basketball was recognized as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll member during the 2019-20 season.
The Bluejays, coached by Tethnie Carrillo, were named to the NCAA Division III Top 25 list with a team grade-point average of 3.664, which was tied for 21st with York College. It marked the first time since Carthage in 2017-18 that a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) had a program with a Top 25 GPA.
This was also the fourth time that the Elmhurst women's basketball program was named to the WBCA's Academic Top 25 Honor Roll, joining the 2017, 2016 and 2010 teams.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2019-20 season is the 25th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL).
