Marian's Ritchie named CCIW's first Bowler of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Marian freshman Alyssa Ritchie was named the first-ever College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Bowler of the Week on Wednesday.

Ritchie, a native of Minooka, Illinois and Minooka Community High School, helped lead the Sabres to wins over Carthage and Aurora to open the season on Saturday. Marian won both of its traditional matches including a 1017-691 win over Carthage and a 920-676 win over Aurora. The Sabres earned a 699-605 Baker Format win over Aurora and a 744-581 Baker Format victory over Carthage. Ritchie opened her collegiate career with 31 strikes in 62 frames bowled and had only six opens out of 62 frames. Her three-game set was games of 232, 195 and 212 (639 total for the series).
