CCIW Women in Athletics Series #4: Lori Kerans - Millikin University

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's (CCIW) 75th anniversary celebration continues as we recognize the careers of past women's student-athletes, coaches and administrators with a weekly video series titled CCIW Women in Athletics.

Each week over the next nine weeks, CCIW Assistant Executive Director Mike Krizman will interview one former student-athlete or coach/administrator from each conference institution.

Today, the series continues with Millikin's Lori Kerans. A 1985 Millikin graduate, Kerans was a four-year basketball letter winner and three-year softball letter winner as a student-athlete. What followed was a 32-year career as the Big Blue’s women’s basketball coach. She reached the ultimate pinnacle when Millikin won the NCAA Division III national title in 2005. Kerans finished as the program’s all-time winningest coach with 556 wins and a .668 winning percentage. Millikin also won 11 CCIW titles during her tenure.

She served as the institution’s athletics director from 2002 to 2008, Senior Woman Administrator from 2008 to 2018 and currently serves as Millikin’s Director for Alumni Engagement.

Kerans is an inductee into the Millikin Athletic Hall of Fame, the Decatur Athletic Hall of Fame and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
