CCIW Women in Athletics Series #7: Becky Djurickovic - North Park University

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's (CCIW) 75th anniversary celebration continues as we recognize the careers of past women's student-athletes, coaches and administrators with a weekly video series titled CCIW Women in Athletics.

Each week over a nine-week period, CCIW Assistant Executive Director Mike Krizman will interview one former student-athlete or coach/administrator from each conference institution.

Today, the series continues with former North Park women's basketball student-athlete and coach Becky Djurickovic.

A 1983 North Park graduate, Djurickovic earned a degree in Education, with an emphasis on Health & Physical Education.

During her collegiate career on the Vikings’ women’s basketball team, she was a three-time All-Conference selection, a Little College All-American and a three-year captain. She finished her playing career as the school’s all-time leader in assists, top ten in points per game for two of her seasons and had the highest field goal percentage in a season at 52.9 percent.

As coach of the North Park women’s basketball team, Djurickovic led the Vikings to their one and only CCIW title in 1988, earning conference Coach of the Year honors in the process.

She retired from a 36-year career in education where she served as a teacher, coach and administrator. She taught at all three levels including elementary, high school and college, most recently, finishing her career at Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 2019.
