NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Millikin senior
Brigid Duesterhaus was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Duesterhaus, a native of Decatur, Illinois and Macarthur High School, won six of her seven events over the weekend. On Friday against Illinois Wesleyan, she split the fastest 50-yard fly leg (26.34) of the first place women's 200-yard medley relay, and tallied first place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (24.85) and 100-yard freestyle (55.17). On Saturday against Principia, she took first in both the 50 freestyle (25.74) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.77). Duesterhaus also had the fastest 100 split of the day in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay (57.88). She also had a third place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.47).
