NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin’s Nathan Callaway, Aurora’s Luke Silva and North Central’s Julian Valtierrez have been voted to share the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week award, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Callaway, a freshman from Aurora, Ill., went 4-0 with all bonus-point wins to win the 157-pound bracket of the Millikin Open last week.
Silva joined Callaway as bracket winners at the Millikin Open. The Crystal Lake, Ill. native went 4-0 over the weekend to win the 174-pound tournament. His victories include three pins and a major decision.
Vatierrez earned a 13-5 major decision last Thursday night in the Cardinals’ CCIW dual versus Wheaton, bringing his overall record to 7-0 on the season.
