NAPERVILLE – Following a 23-point, 11-rebound performance last Saturday, North Central’s Mitrese Smith is the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
Smith, a 6-foot senior forward from Kewanee, Ill., led the Cardinals to their first CCIW win of the campaign last Saturday, a 76-58 decision at Elmhurst. She was 7-for-11 from the floor and 9-for-12 from the foul line en route to her second career double-double. She collected eight of her 11 rebounds at the defensive end of the floor also had a steal and a blocked shot to help NCC pick up its first victory since Nov. 26.
Smith is North Central’s first CCIW Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week since Alanna Newsome on Nov. 12, 2018.
