2022 CCIW All-Conference Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced today the 16 members of the 2022 All-Conference Men's Basketball Team.

Additionally, the conference announced its season-ending award recipients as well as the nine student-athletes named as the CCIW's RESPECT Award winners.

Illinois Wesleyan senior forward Matt Leritz was named the 2022 Fred Young Most Outstanding Student-Athlete after helping lead the Titans to the outright CCIW regular season title. He is Illinois Wesleyan's first recipient since Dylan Overstreet in 2015.

Leritz, Elmhurst's Jake Rhode, Millikin's Calvin Fisher, North Central's Matt Helwig and Wheaton's Nyameye Adom were all unanimous First Team selections.

Caroll freshman guard Aaron Wafford won 2022 CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year honors, becoming Carroll's first-ever recipient of the award, which was established in 2013.

Illinois Wesleyan's Ron Rose won his fourth CCIW Coach of the Year award and first since 2018 on Tuesday as the Titans won their 32nd CCIW regular season title this season. Rose and Illinois Wesleyan will host the semifinal and final rounds of the 2022 CCIW Men's Basketball Tournament this weekend at the Shirk Center.

RESPECT Award: At the conclusion of every sports season, each varsity program will recognize one student-athlete as their RESPECT Award honoree. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
