NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Elmhurst's Freddie March and Illinois Wesleyan's Scott Monocchio were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

March, a senior catcher from Itasca, Illinois and Lake Park High School, hit .500 (8-for-16) with seven runs, four home runs, one double, eight RBI and a 1.313 slugging percentage for the 3-1 Bluejays last week. He was 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, one home run and two RBI in a 15-6 win over Hamilton on March 20. March then went 2-for-4 with three runs, two home runs, one walk and three RBI in a 16-6 Game One victory over Union on March 21. In Game Two, March was 2-for-3 with two runs, one home run, two walks and three RBI in a 17-10 victory.

Monocchio, a junior pitcher from Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Glenbard West High School, was 1-0 with a 0.90 ERA and 11 strikeouts in two appearances last week. He pitched all nine innings in a 9-0 shutout of Ripon on March 17 as he scattered four hits, struck out 10 batters and walked three. Monocchio pitched one inning with one strikeout in a 25-13 win over Anderson on March 15.
