NAPERVILLE – Thanks to 21-point, 16-rebound performance that included the game-winning bucket in the closing moments, Illinois Wesleyan sophomore guard Lauren Huber has been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday. The announcement marks Huber’s fourth weekly honor from the CCIW during the 2022-23 season.
Huber’s heroics lifted the Titans to a 56-54 win at Wheaton last Saturday. The 5-foot-8 guard from Lombard, Ill. scored on a driving layup with just 5.5 seconds to play to break the sixth tie of the evening. It was Huber’s eighth field goal of the contest. Fifteen of her game-high 16 rebounds came at the defensive end of the floor.
Huber has a league-high seven double-doubles this season. Her 10.1 boards per contest .519 field goal percentage also pace the conference.
