Titans Stay at #6 in New National Rankings

NAPERVILLE — Illinois Wesleyan remained sixth in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/TARAFLEX Division III poll released on Tuesday afternoon. The Titans are 18-2 overall after taking two out of three matches at the Blugold Alumni Weekend Invitational last Friday and Saturday.
 
IWU dropped a five-set decision to seventh-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire – a matchup that included a 21-19 score in the decisive fifth set – but recovered to beat Cornell and Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday. 
 
In College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play, the Titans remain the league’s final unbeaten team with a 5-0 record. IWU defeated North Central in three sets last Wednesday at the Shirk Center.
 
La Verne is still the top-ranked team in the poll, receiving 69 of 86 first-place votes for 2,133 points. East Texas Baptist is second with 16 first-place votes, while Wisconsin-Oshkosh is third.
