METAMORA, Ill. – Three-time reigning College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women’s golf champion Illinois Wesleyan is the team leader after the first of three rounds at the 2025 CCIW Women’s Golf Championship at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, Ill. The Titans carded a team 301 on Monday and own an 11-stroke lead with 36 holes to play.
Carthage sits in second place with a score of 312, followed by Augustana and North Central – tied for third at 315. Millikin (340), Carroll (342), Elmhurst (343), and Wheaton (379) complete the team standings after 18 holes.
IWU’s Emily Gastrau and Carthage’s Lexi Manteufel share the first-round lead after each posted a two-over-par 73 on Monday. Gastrau led an IWU lineup that has four golfers inside the top six on the leaderboard, while Manteufel led the Firebirds’ effort to stay within striking distance. Julia Henry of IWU and Madison Place of North Central are tied for third at 75 (+4), with IWU’s Gigi Zera landed fifth with a 76 (+5).
The championship marches on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. with the second of three rounds at Metamora Fields. Co-leaders Gastrau and Manteufel will play together with an 11:33 a.m. tee time.
