NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selected Illinois Wesleyan’s Noah Cleveland as Student-Athlete of the Week in men’s basketball on Monday afternoon. Cleveland led the Titans to a 3-0 week that included a ranked win and a second tournament title.
A sophomore from Normal, Ill., Cleveland averaged 14.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest, while adding in five blocks, two steals, and two assists. He shot 64 percent from the field, going 20-of-31, as the Titans improved to 5-0.
In a 72-69 triumph over No. 11 Chicago, Cleveland posted 14 points and eight rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting. He followed that with nine points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes as IWU throttled Wisconsin Lutheran, 97-42. Cleveland wrapped the weekend with a career performance that saw the sophomore go for 20 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in just 23 minutes of action in a win over Kenyon. Cleveland was named to the Mike Turner Classic All-Tournament team after leading IWU to the in-season tournament title.
