NAPERVILLE — Unbeaten Illinois Wesleyan appeared at No. 6 in the new D3hoops.com poll released on Monday. The Titans are 5-0 this season and climbed 10 spots from the national preseason rankings unveiled last month.
IWU received a first-place vote to anchor its point total of 499 in Tuesday’s new rankings. The Titans were winners versus Wisconsin Lutheran (97-42) and Kenyon (89-59) to claim the Albion Tournament championship last Saturday. IWU also collected a 72-69 win over then-11th-ranked Chicago last Wednesday at the Shirk Center.
Trinity (Conn.) logged 23 of 25 first-place votes to maintain the No. 1 ranking with a 3-0 record. Randolph-Macon, Wisconsin-La Crosse, Redlands and WashU rounded out the top five.
Carthage (45 points) and Elmhurst (20 points) were among unranked teams receiving votes in Monday’s new poll.
