PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – Augustana made it three consecutive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving titles on Saturday night, stacking 926 points to claim the top spot at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
Powered by a final point total of 926, the Vikings have won three league titles in a row for the first time since 1969 through 1971. Head coach Dan Lloyd earned the CCIW Coach of the Year award, while Tyler Leslie collected the CCIW Student-Athlete of the Meet honor.
Leslie was the first-place finisher in the 200 individual medley, the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle. He also helped the Vikings to a win in the 400 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Carthage placed second at the championship with 885.5 points. Taydin Murphy collected the CCIW Diving Student-Athlete of the Meet award for the Firebirds, seeping both the 1-meter diving and 3-meter diving competitions on Wednesday.
Jed Ritchie of Wheaton was voted CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of Meet, helping the Thunder seize third place with 819 points.
The CCIW Elite 26 award winners were Mark Addison of Augustana and Logan Dales of Carthage. The award is presented to the student-athlete who excels academically and athletically at the conference level in each of the CCIW's 26 sponsored sports.
