North Central Concludes Season with Loss to Chicago

CHICAGO – Falling to the defending national champions and current No. 1 University of Chicago, the North Central College women's tennis team concluded their season with a 4-0 loss to the Maroons on Friday afternoon at Stagg Tennis Courts.

UChicago took care of business in doubles play, winning 6-0 and No. 1 and 6-1 at No. 2 to earn the team point. Liveta Ezerskis and Meghan McSweeney earned a point, but were trailing 5-1 before the team point was decided. The Maroons claimed straight-set victories at No. 4, 5 and 6 to earn the 4-0 win. Abigail Penados lost a tight 6-4 set at No. 1 before the clinch.
 
The Cardinals conclude the 2024-25 season with a 15-10 record. In conference play, North Central went 7-1 to win their fifth straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championship.
