NAPERVILLE — Carthage junior Victor Pimenta has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. Pimenta posted a 4-0 record during a non-conference doubleheader last Saturday. Pimenta’s efforts helped the Firebirds remain undefeated at 4-0 on the 2025-26 season.
In Carthage’s 5-2 win over Carleton, he and Luca Okino posted a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles against Zach Leslie and Baiyun Jing. The Ribeirão Preto, Brazil
native added a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles over Owen Heidtke.
Later in the day, Pimenta and Okino earned a 6-3 decision at No. 2 doubles over Madden Vanderwerf and Marjan Veldic as part of a 7-0 sweep of St. Olaf, and Pimenta followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles over Mason Ramirez.
