CCIW Women’s Indoor Weekly Awards Go to Huber and Selmer

NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced Wednesday that Illinois Wesleyan junior Mackenzie Huber and Elmhurst freshman Chloe Selmer have been selected as the CCIW Women’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for performances during the weekend of Feb. 13-14.

Track: Mackenzie Huber, Illinois Wesleyan
Huber earned the track award after winning the 800-meter run at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. She posted a personal-best time of 2:12.37 to finish first, edging the runner-up by 0.50 seconds. The mark is the top time in the CCIW this season and ranks among the top-15 nationally in NCAA Division III.

Field: Chloe Selmer, Elmhurst

Selmer received field honors following a school-record performance in the long jump at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships. She recorded a winning leap of 5.93 meters (19 feet, 5.5 inches), breaking Elmhurst’s previous program record and becoming the first Bluejay to eclipse 5.90 meters. The mark leads the CCIW this season and ranks third nationally in NCAA Division III, while also finishing three centimeters shy of the CCIW’s all-time record.

Selmer added a second-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.59 meters.
