Wheaton Captures Women’s 800 Free Relay Title on Opening Night of CCIW Championship

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — The 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship moved to the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. on Wednesday evening with the women’s 800-yard freestyle relay. Wheaton captured the conference title.
 
Wheaton’s relay of Olivia Wiebe, Allison Henschel, Kate Zurowski and Tess Boyer won the event in 7:46.70. The quartet improved its seed time of 7:52.34 by nearly six seconds and finished more than 10 seconds clear of the field.
 
Augustana placed second in 7:57.17 behind Giselle Koonce, Kendle Mihm, Caitlin Stoddard and Mya Pheneger. Illinois Wesleyan finished third at 7:58.65 with Natalie Porter, Samantha Borre, Claire Paule and Abby Schnittker.
 
Carthage took fourth (8:10.07), followed by Carroll in fifth (8:20.70) and North Central in sixth (9:17.96).
 
In the “B” final, Augustana’s second entry recorded the top time of the heat at 7:58.93, followed by Carthage (8:10.76) and Wheaton (8:15.92).
 
The women’s 800-yard freestyle relay highlighted the opening swimming session in Pleasant Prairie after the diving portion of the championships concluded last Saturday in Kenosha. The meet continues with preliminary action Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.
