IWU’s Fagan Earns Second Straight CCIW Women’s Golf Weekly Honor

NAPERVILLE — For the second consecutive week, Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Grace Fagan received College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week recognition. Fagan earned the latest award after tying for second at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invite last weekend at Janesville Riverside Golf Club.

In an event shortened to 18 holes because of cold temperatures, high winds and severe weather, she posted a one-over-par 73 to finish among the top performers in a 100-player field.

Her round included four birdies on the front nine and left her one stroke behind medalist Julia Imai of UW-Stout. The result came one week after Fagan finished ahead of Imai to win the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling. Fagan’s performance also helped IWU place third in the team standings among 18 competing programs.
