BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- The 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Championship began Thursday at Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill., with Wheaton and Augustana advancing from the quarterfinal round.
The tournament, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan, will continue Friday with two semifinal matches in Bloomington. The winners will advance to Saturday’s championship final. Fourth-seeded Wheaton will face top-seeded North Central at 10 a.m., followed by third-seeded Augustana against second-seeded Carthage at 2 p.m.
#4 Wheaton 4 def. #5 Millikin, 4-0
Wheaton advanced with a 4-0 win over fifth-seeded Millikin. The Thunder earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
David Hill and Toby Schmidt won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, while Ryder Ward and Corin Tang added a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles to give Wheaton a 1-0 lead.
Wheaton completed the match with three straight-set singles wins in the lower half of the lineup. Hill won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, Ward followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles, and Schmidt added a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 6 singles.
#3 Augustana 4 def. #6 Carroll, 4-1
Augustana moved on to the semifinal round with a 4-1 win over sixth-seeded Carroll.
The Pioneers opened the match by winning the doubles point. Andrew LaBelle and Felix Persson won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, while Carson Leighton and Ryan LaBelle earned a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles to give Carroll a 1-0 lead.
Augustana answered in singles play with four consecutive wins. Jorge Marcelo won 6-1, 6-3, Santiago Lazo added a 6-2, 6-2 result, and Aingeru Garcia won 6-2, 6-3.
Facundo Feldman secured the final point at No. 5 singles, winning 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
