Millikin Holds National Presence in Latest Baseball Rankings

NAPERVILLE — Millikin remains nationally recognized in the latest baseball polls released Tuesday. The Big Blue are ranked No. 27 in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Coaches Poll and are also receiving votes in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25.

Millikin’s place in the national polls comes after the program reached the 20-win mark for the season. The Big Blue, now 20-7 overall, recorded a 2-1 win over North Central and won two of three games in their weekend series against Carthage. After splitting a doubleheader with the Firebirds, including an 11-1 Millikin win in the second game, the Big Blue closed the series with an 8-0 shutout victory.

The top five remained the same in both national polls this week. Denison holds the No. 1 position, followed by Lynchburg at No. 2 and Johns Hopkins at No. 3. Salve Regina is ranked fourth, while Shenandoah rounds out the top five.
