PALM DESERT, Calif. — Two women’s golfers from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin were named to the 2025-26 Women’s Golf Coaches Association Division III All-Region Team, announced Monday in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championship Banquet in Palm Desert, Calif.
Carthage sophomore Lexi Manteufel and Illinois Wesleyan sophomore Gigi Zera were selected to the Region 4/Great Lakes All-Region Team. The pair represented the CCIW among the honorees recognized by the WGCA.
Manteufel earned all-region recognition following a sophomore season in which she posted a 75.9 scoring average across 1,670 total strokes. The Franksville, Wis. native was an All-CCIW First Team selection after placing second at the CCIW Championship and was also named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week during the season.
Her year included five rounds of 72, marking her season low, and eight total rounds of 73 or better. Manteufel is the first Carthage women’s golfer to receive WGCA All-Region honors since the 2021-22 season.
Zera received the first all-region honor of her career after leading Illinois Wesleyan with a 76.8 stroke average. The Glenview, Ill. native was named the CCIW Women’s Golfer of the Year and finished the season with four top-five placements in 10 events.
Her sophomore campaign also included her first collegiate individual victory at the Division II SMSU Classic. Zera recorded personal bests for 18 holes with a 70 and 36 holes with a 145 at the event.
Founded in 1983, the WGCA is a nonprofit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The association recognizes student-athletes through its All-America, All-Region and additional national awards programs.
