Carthage's Schranck named CCIW Men's Swimmer of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s Doug Schranck was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimmer of the Week Tuesday.

Schranck, a junior from Alton, Ill., and Marquette Catholic High School, led Carthage to a victory at the TYRCollegeSwimming.com Classic by achieving an NCAA “B” cut and new school record. He swam lifetime best times in the 50-yard freestyle (22.27) and 200-yard butterfly (1:53.43, NCAA “B” Cut & School Record), along with season best times in the 200 IM (1:58.00), and 100-yard butterfly (51.34). Schranck won both the 100 and 200 fly along with posting top 5 finishes in the 50 freestyle and 200 IM, and also contributed to two second place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay (22.95- fly split) and 400-yard medley relay (50.98- fly split). He is a Business Administration major.
