CCIW announces indoor track & field athletes of the week for February 1

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s Lauren Alpert, along with North Central’s Michelle Criscione, Dan Benton and John Wood were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.

Alpert, a junior from Park Ridge, Ill., and Maine South High School, won the 400-meter dash at the Titan Open over the weekend, clocking a time of 57.39. This was a lifetime best and is currently ranked first on the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS). Alpert is a Psychology major.

Criscione, a senior from Plainfield, Ill., and Plainfield Central High School, won the high jump at North Central’s Quadrangular on Friday, clearing a provisional qualifying height of 5-5 ¼. She is currently tied for ninth on the NCAA honor roll. Criscione is an Elementary Education major.

Benton, a senior from Westmont, Ill., and Westmont High School, tied his own facility record in the 400-meter dash at North Central’s Quadrangular, winning with a provisional qualifying time of 49.15. His time currently leads the TFRRS list. Benton is a Psychology major.

Wood, a junior from Palatine, Ill., and Fremd High School, won the pole vault at North Central’s Quadrangular, finishing with an automatic qualifying height of 16-8 ¾. Wood is a Management major.
