NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s
Tara Clemens and North Central’s
Elizabeth Composto were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.
Clemens, a senior from Bloomington, Illinois and Bloomington High School (Business-Marketing major), set a new school record in the mile during a home triangular meet with Washington (Mo.) and the University of Chicago on Saturday. Her time of 4:59.69 was seven seconds faster than her previous best and is currently the top time in NCAA Division III.
Composto, a sophomore from Bloomington, Illinois and University High School (Graphic Design/Technology major), won the pole vault at North Central’s Cardinal Opener on Friday. She finished with a height of 11-6 ½, which currently ranks ninth on the national list and first in the CCIW.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
