Elmhurst Defends CCIW Women’s Indoor Championship; North Central Second

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Elmhurst claimed the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at the Shirk Center, securing its second consecutive conference title. The Bluejays closed the two-day meet with 155.33 points.
 
Elmhurst finished first in the team standings, followed by North Central with 111.67 points and Illinois Wesleyan with 94.33. Augustana placed fourth with 78.33 points. Wheaton (66), Carthage (64), Millikin (37.33), Carroll (32) and North Park (24) rounded out the final standings.
 
Saturday’s track finals produced several repeat winners and a range of event champions. North Park’s Riana Hayes earned titles in both the 60-meter dash (7.59) and the 200-meter dash (25.05). Illinois Wesleyan’s Adriana Crabtree also won twice on the final day, taking the mile (4:58.64) and the 3,000-meter run (10:29.80). 
 
Additional Saturday track winners included Elmhurst’s Tiana Grady in the 60-meter hurdles (8.82) and Carmela Woods in the 400-meter dash (57.47), along with Illinois Wesleyan’s Mackenzie Huber in the 800-meter run (2:13.67). The meet concluded with Illinois Wesleyan’s Jordynn Griffin, Bella Gonzalez, Mallory Short and Mackenzie Huber winning the 4x400-meter relay in 3:56.20.
 
In Saturday’s field events, Wheaton’s Gracie Crowder won the high jump by clearing 1.66 meters, while Illinois Wesleyan’s Imani Ogunribido won the triple jump at 12.19 meters. Carthage’s Madison Payne completed a sweep of the throwing events by winning the shot put with a mark of 13.50 meters.
 
The conference also announced its annual awards following the meet. Payne was named the Women’s Field Student-Athlete of the Meet after winning the weight throw (16.23m) and shot put (13.50m). IWU’s Adriana Crabtree earned Women’s Track Student-Athlete of the Meet honors following her victories in the mile and 3,000 meters, along with anchoring the Titans’ winning distance medley relay team on Friday.
 
Illinois Wesleyan’s Gwen Boettinger was selected as the First-Year Field Student-Athlete of the Meet after finishing as the runner-up in the high jump. North Central’s Dylan Moeller received First-Year Track Student-Athlete of the Meet recognition after placing third in the mile and 3,000 meters, fourth in the 800 meters and anchoring the Cardinals’ second-place distance medley relay. Elmhurst was named Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year under first-year Director of Track & Field David Stone.
 
The Elite 26 Award – awarded to the All-CCIW student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average – was shared by six student-athletes: Grace Gillespie (Augustana), Jenna Weis (Carroll), Hana Smith (Carroll), Sarah Hahn (Elmhurst), Molly Roberts (Elmhurst) and Pola Kubrak (North Central).
