NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s
Alex Rindone and North Central’s
Matt Souvannasing were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.
Rindone, a senior from Geneva, Illinois and Marmion Academy (Business & Communication major), won the 400-meter dash at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday, finishing with a meet and school indoor record time of 48.85. His time is currently second on the national list. Rindone also ran a leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay and was named the outstanding athlete of the meet.
Souvannasing, a sophomore from North Aurora, Illinois and West Aurora High School (Physical Education major), placed second in the long jump at North Central’s Chicagoland Championships on Saturday. His mark of 22-7 (6.88 meters) currently leads the conference.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
