Augustana's Voland, North Central Winder named CCIW Men's Outdoor T&F Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s David Voland and North Central’s Luke Winder were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Voland, a senior from Batavia, Illinois and Batavia High School (Mathematics education major), broke the Western Illinois Lee Calhoun Invitational record in the 400-meter hurdles over the weekend, clocking a winning time of 51.48. He also finished second in the 110-hurdles with a time of 15.17, which is the second-ranked time in the CCIW. Voland then anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team that finished with the No. 2 time in the nation (3:12.39).

Winder, a freshman from Joliet, Illinois and Plainfield Central (Physical Education major), won his second-straight CCIW Field Athlete of the Week honor after he won the pole vault at the Chicagoland Championships. He set a new personal best and broke the facility record at the College of DuPage, finishing with a vault of 17-8 ½ (5.40 meters). Winder was also named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for his performance at the Chicagoland Championships.
