NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Madison Renfro and
Elizabeth Composto were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Renfro, a junior from Moweaqua, Illinois and Central A&M High School (Mathematics major), ran a pair of season bests at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville’s Invitational this past weekend. She ran 14.28 in the 100-meter hurdles preliminaries and 14.27 in the finals, good enough for third place (top Division III athlete). She’s currently ranked fourth nationally and first in the CCIW. Renfro also ran the lead leg in the 4x100-meter relay (47.61) and was part of the 4x400-meter relay (4:04.54).
Composto, a senior from Bloomington, Illinois and University High School (Graphic Design major), was third in the pole vault at the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Invitational with a season-best vault of 12-7 ½ (3.85 meters). She was the top Division III athlete in the event and her height currently ranks third nationally and first in the CCIW.
