CCIW Contingent Heads to La Crosse for NCAA Women's Outdoor Championships

NAPERVILLE — Student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) will compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week at Veterans Memorial Field in La Crosse, Wis.
 
The three-day national meet is scheduled for Thursday through Saturday and will include 21 events. Competition begins Thursday morning with multi-event action, followed by the first field-event finals of the championship. Running preliminaries are scheduled for Thursday evening, with the women’s 10,000-meter final closing the first day at 7:30 p.m.
 
Friday’s schedule includes additional field-event finals and running preliminaries, while the first track finals of the weekend will be contested in the 3,000-meter steeplechase beginning at 6 p.m. The meet will conclude Saturday with field events starting at 11 a.m. and remaining running finals beginning at 1:05 p.m. The final event of the championship, the 4x400-meter relay, is scheduled for 4:50 p.m.
 
The CCIW will have two No. 1 seeds entering the national meet. Augustana’s Charlotte Frere owns the top qualifying mark in the discus at 56.59 meters, while Illinois Wesleyan’s Imani Ogunribido enters as the national leader in the triple jump at 12.51 meters.
 
Elmhurst’s Carmela Woods qualified in the 400-meter dash with the 13th-seeded time of 55.37 seconds. Woods will also run as part of Elmhurst’s 4x100-meter relay with Tiana Grady, Jasha James and Paulina Tinajero. The Bluejays enter the relay as the No. 14 seed with a time of 46.84 seconds.
 
North Central’s Alivia Henkel is seeded seventh in the 400-meter hurdles after qualifying in 1:00.25.
 
Illinois Wesleyan will also be represented in two distance events. Mackenzie Huber is seeded 14th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.07, while Adriana Crabtree is the No. 7 seed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:33.93.
 
In the jumps, Wheaton’s Gracie Crowder is tied for the seventh seed in the high jump after clearing 1.71 meters. North Central’s Gwen Berenyi is the fifth seed in the pole vault at 4.03 meters, while Carroll’s Jenna Weis and North Park’s Julia Klein also qualified with marks of 3.90 meters and 3.87 meters, respectively. Illinois Wesleyan will have two entries in the triple jump, led by Ogunribido and joined by Victoria Brown, who is seeded 12th at 12.02 meters.
 
The CCIW’s throws group includes Frere and Carthage’s Jackie Tuzil in the discus. Tuzil is seeded eighth with a mark of 47.88 meters. Illinois Wesleyan’s Taylor French and Augustana’s Laina Nelson will compete in the javelin, entering the championship as the No. 12 and No. 13 seeds with marks of 43.05 meters and 42.97 meters, respectively.
