Illinois Wesleyan claims fourth CCIW women's outdoor track & field title in school history

WHEATON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan won its fourth College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women’s outdoor track & field title in school history on Saturday.

The win was also the fourth CCIW title for the Titans since 2009 as all have come under head coach Chris Schumacher, whose teams won national titles in 2008 and 2010.

Illinois Wesleyan won with a team score of 239.50, followed by North Central (195.50), Wheaton (117.50), Augustana (107.50), Carthage (89), Millikin (35), North Park (33) and Elmhurst (2).

North Central’s Madison Renfro was named the CCIW Female Track Athlete of the Meet after winning the 100-meter hurdles (13.94), the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.49) and was the leadoff leg of the second-place 4x100 relay (47.88). Renfro became the first Cardinal since Jessica Griffin in 2007 to win this award.

Illinois Wesleyan’s Allie Boudreau earned CCIW Female Field Athlete of the Meet honors after winning the heptathlon (4,733 points) and the javelin (139-1). She also finished second in the 400-meter dash (58.09) and third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.48). This was Boudreau’s second field athlete of the meet award in the last three years.

The Titans also took home CCIW Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year honors after leading their team to the conference title for the first time since 2012 on Saturday.

The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 21-23 at the Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex in Canton, New York.
