NAPERVILLE — North Central sophomore Alivia Henkel and Carthage senior Jackie Tuzil were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week on Wednesday. Henkel earned Track Student-Athlete of the Week recognition, while Tuzil was selected as the Field Student-Athlete of the Week.

At the Chicagoland Championships, Henkel turned in the top 400-meter hurdles performance in the conference this season. Running the event for the first time outdoors this year, the Rochelle, Ill. native won the race in a personal-best 1:01.23. The mark ranks fourth in NCAA Division III, stands as the third-fastest time in North Central history and gave her a margin of victory of more than six seconds in the 28-team meet.

Henkel also helped North Central’s 4x400-meter relay place second at the meet. She ran a sub-57-second opening leg as the Cardinals posted a conference-leading time of 3:53.92.
