North Central's Krueger named CCIW Men's Tennis Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Victor Krueger was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
 
Krueger, a sophomore from Stockholm, Sweden and the International High School (International Business major), was 6-0 through the Cardinals’ first three matches of their spring trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, playing No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles. He beat Western New England’s David Kalmer (6-1, 6-4), Buena Vista’s Chris Habermann (6-3, 6-4) and Virginia Wesleyan’s Ben Astrum (6-1, 6-3), all without dropping a set. Krueger and teammate Alex Kolheimer beat Western New England (8-5), followed by wins over Buena Vista (8-1) and Virginia Wesleyan (9-7) with teammate Tyler Haizel.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2015-16 academic year, the CCIW honored over 1,600 academic all-conference recipients, 14 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients and over 100 all-Americans.
