North Central's Hinch named CCIW Men's Tennis Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central freshman Andy Hinch was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.

A native of Decatur, Illinois and Mount Zion High School (Marketing major), Hinch went a combined 4-0 in the Cardinals' two wins over the weekend. Hinch and doubles partner Tyler Haizel went 2-0 at the No. 2 position with wins over Wartburg's Grant Kincaid and Nate Kolz (8-1) and Milwaukee School of Engineering's (MSOE) Alec Dam and Connor Spingaire (8-4). Hinch was 2-0 at No. 4 singles with wins over Kincaid (6-0, 6-1) and MSOE's Curt Norton (6-1, 6-0). North Central beat the Knights 6-3 and the Raiders 5-0 on Saturday.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
