Peyton Piron and
Nick Janca were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Piron, a senior from Batavia, Illinois and Batavia High School (Actuarial Science/Finance major), won the 400-meter run at the Benedictine Relays on Saturday. His time of 48.36 currently ranks first in the conference and is tied for 10th on the NCAA Division III nationalist list compiled by TFRRS.org. Piron was also part of the winning 4x400-meter relay (3:17.88) as the Cardinals won the 27-team event with 172 team points.
Janca, a sophomore from Oswego, Illinois and Oswego High School (Health Science major), won the high jump at the Benedictine Relays while helping the Cardinals to a first place finish on Saturday. He finished with a height of 2.03 meters (6-8), which currently ranks second in the CCIW and is tied for 12th on the Division III national list.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
