NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central freshman Andy Hinch was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season on Wednesday.

A native of Decatur, Illinois and Mount Zion High School (Marketing major), Hinch was 4-0 against CCIW competition last week including 2-0 at No. 5 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. Hinch and doubles partner Victor Krueger beat Carthage's Tripp Schulte and John Nykyforuk (8-3) on April 12 and Carroll's Chayce Roecker and Joseph Harrison (8-4) on April 13. His singles wins came against Carthage's Matt Krzewinski (6-1, 4-6, 6-4) and Carroll's Ryan Strupp (6-0, 6-1) as the Cardinals beat the Red Men 5-4 and the Pioneers 6-3.

During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
