Elise Ruud and North Central junior
Kelsey McLaurin were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Ruud, a native of Stjordal, Norway, placed first in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles at North Central's Cardinal Opener on Friday, clocking a time of 9.17. This time currently ranks first in the CCIW and 13th on the NCAA Division III national list. She also ran a personal best time of 8.33 in the 60-meter dash.
McLaurin, a native of South Barrington, Illinois and Barrington High School, had a national-leading mark in the triple jump during the Cardinal Opener on Friday. Her mark of 11.84 meters (38-10 1/4) was second to Division I's Oyinlola Akinlostu of Loyola (39-2 1/4) as North Central took first in the seven-team meet. McLaurin is ranked first in the triple jump in both the CCIW and on the NCAA Division III national list.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
