Wheaton's Ezewuzie, North Central's Draves named CCIW Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton's Favor Ezewuzie and North Central's Alexandra Draves were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. 

Ezewuzie, a senior from Malden, Massachusetts and Covenant Christian Academy, won the 60-meter hurdles at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational on Saturday. Competing in her first meet of the 2020 season, Ezewuzie finished with a time of 8.80, which currently ranks first in the CCIW and fourth on the NCAA Division III national list.

Draves, a sophomore from Verona, Illinois and Seneca High School, took fourth in the 20-pound weight throw at the Warhawk Classic on Saturday. She established a new personal best by nearly 18 inches as she achieved a distance of 54-6 (16.61 meters). Her mark is currently fourth in the CCIW and 21st on the Division III list. It is also ranked second all-time in program history.

During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
