NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan freshman
Lauren Huber was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
A Biology major from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Huber made the first two starts of her career last week, averaging 26 points and six rebounds per game for the Titans. Huber set new career highs with 31 points and five steals to go with seven rebounds in an overtime loss to Rose-Hulman. Huber's 31 points was the most points scored by a freshman since Traci Butler's 32 points against North Central in 1993. Huber followed with a 21-point, five-rebound peformance in a loss to WashU on Saturday. She finished the week shooting 50% (17-34) from the field and 77.3% (17-22) from the free throw line.
