CCIW announces 2021 All-Conference Men's Tennis Team

2021 CCIW All-Conference Men's Tennis Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced today the 12 members of the All-Conference Men's Tennis Team.

After winning women's Coach of the Year honors last week, North Central's Ryan Jump won the same award on the men's side after leading the Cardinals to a 6-1 regular season and a tie for first place with Augustana heading into this week's CCIW Championship. He is the first North Central coach since 2009 to win CCIW Coach of the Year honors. 

Augustana senior Caio deRezende was named the CCIW Player of the Year after finishing 7-0 at No. 1 singles in conference play. He is the first Vikings player since Lawrence Palmer in 2015 to earn Player of the Year recognition. 

Carthage junior Nicolas Welker became the first Firebird since Herman Abban in 2017 to be named the CCIW Newcomer of the Year.

CCIW teams move onto the quarterfinal round of the CCIW Men's Tennis Championship this afternoon. The four winning teams from today move onto the semifinal round on Friday, followed by the championship on Saturday. Be sure to visit the championship website for a full schedule of events.
