Carthage's Munro, Illinois Wesleyan's Thorman named CCIW Co-Women's Golf Student-Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Carthage's Kate Munro and Illinois Wesleyan's Emma Thorman earned College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Co-Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday.

Munro, a senior from Racine, Wisconsin and The Prairie School, tied for third with a two-day score of 144 (74-70) at the Wartburg Invitational held September 11-12. She posted a career-best 18-hole score of 70 in the second round, helping lead the Firebirds to a third place finish (302-297=599). Both her 18-hole score and her 36-hole score placed her second in Carthage's all-time record books for both categories.  

Thorman, a sophomore from Macomb, Illinois and Macomb High School, shot a two-day school-record score of 144 (74-70) as she tied for third at the Wartburg Fall Invitational. On the second day, she shot an 18-hole, two-under par 70, which tied the 18-hole school record. The Titans placed second as a team with a two-day score of 597 (299-298).
