Julia Babinec and Augustana's
Kat Krebasch were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Babinec, a senior from Zeeland, Michigan and Zeeland High School, won her second-straight CCIW Track Athlete of the Week honor. She won two events during North Central's Snow Day Invitational, running a national-leading time of 8.75 in the 60-meter hurdles. This time was also a personal best. Her winning 200-meter time of 26.24 was a 2.38-second personal best. Babinec also ran a personal best in the 60-meter dash preliminary (8.09).
Krebasch, a senior from Wood Dale, Illinois, won the pole vault at St. Ambrose's Bumble Rumble on Saturday. She finished with a height of 3.86 meters (12-8), which is the second-best mark in school history and currently ranks first in the NCAA and the CCIW.
