Carroll's Evans named CCIW Women's Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Carroll senior guard Katie Evans was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

A Market major from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Evans helped lead the Pioneers to three victories over the last two weeks but shined in the Pioneers' upset of fifth-ranked UW-Whitewater on Saturday. Evans scored a career-high 22 points to go with three rebounds and five steals as the Pioneers handed the Warhawks their first loss of the season and secured the first win over a top-five ranked team in program history. Evans shot 8-for-13 from the field and made four-of-five three-point attempts in the victory.
