North Central's Svienty, Carroll's Hermsen named CCIW Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central's Max Svienty and Carroll's Steven Hermsen were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Svienty, a sophomore from Arlington Heights, Illinois and Hersey High School, placed second in the 1,500-meter run at North Central's First Chance Invitational on April 15. His time of 3:54.26 ranks first in the CCIW and 46th on the NCAA Division III national list. 

Hermsen, a senior from DePere, Wisconsin and DePere High School, won the discus at the 2022 Warrior Invitational on April 14 at Wisconsin Lutheran College. His throw of 54.63 meters is the No. 1 mark in the country by over three meters.
