James McGlashon and Carthage's
Joseph White were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
McGlashon, a sophomore from Chicago and Taft High School, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Wheaton's Don Church Twilight over the weekend, clocking a time of 9:13.76. This time currently ranks first in the CCIW and 13th on the NCAA Division III national list.
White, a sophomore from Kenosha, Wisconsin and Indian Trail High School and Academy, won both the shot put and discus, and took second in the hammer throw at Wheaton's Don Church Twilight. His mark of 17.79 in the shot put was a lifetime best and broke a program record by 2 1/2 feet. Additionally, it also ranks first in the CCIW and in Division III. White's mark of 54.93 in the hammer was also a lifetime best, which currently ranks third in the CCIW and 13th in Division III.
