Jamauri Spivery and Carroll's
Steven Hermsen were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Spivery, a senior from Chicago, Illinois and Perspectives Charter, lowered the North Central wind legal program record in the 100-meter dash at the Elmhurst Twilight over the weekend. His time of 10.61 was a personal best, which ranks second in the CCIW and 24th in Division III. He also anchored the 4x100-meter relay to a season best time of 42.06.
Hermsen, a senior from DePere, Wisconsin and DePere High School, won his second CCIW Field Athlete of the Week honor following his performance at the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative this past weekend. He won the discus with a season-best throw of 55.24 meters, which currently ranks first in the CCIW and second in Division III. He also took fourth in the shot put with a season-best throw of 15.67 meters, which currently ranks first in the CCIW, and had a personal best in the hammer (54.03 meters).
